Some items become grey and notes have been duplicated!!!

Hi there!

I now use Zotero because Mendeley turned me down several times, but I also have some (minor) issues with Zotero. Potentially because I still do not know how to use it, even though I tried to find the answers to my troubles elsewhere.

(i) some of my items in the Standalone appear in grey, not in black. I wonder why, and do not know what this means.

(ii) on a beautiful morning, I opened Zotero Standalone on my usual laptop... and all my notes were duplicated. I do not understand neither!!!

Any ideas?!?

    Items in gray are items that don't match your current search but have to show up to provide context (e.g., parent items that don't match a search for a note, or vice versa).

    You'd get duplicates if you exported and reimported your items (on this or another synced computer). You shouldn't use export to move items between computers on the same account.

    no, I still get duplicate notes every now and then. I only use one computer and I never use export!

    Maybe when I sync a bibliography in a Word document?!?
