Bookmarklet doesn't do anything

I am trying to use the bookmarklet in Firefox to save a book from Amazon.com or Google Books to Zotero Standalone, but it doesn't do anything.

All that happens when I click on "Save to Zotero" in my bookmarks bar is a little box pops up in the lower right saying "Saving via server". But nothing gets saved to Zotero.

I do not have Zotero for Firefox.

    May I ask why? While this should work, it will perform significantly worse than installing the Firefox add-on and linking it to Zotero Standalone (which it will do by default).

    But if you're set on doing this with the bookmarklet--do you have Standalone open when you try?
