Security Warnings

Hi. I've downloaded and installed Zotero standalone.

When I opened Word 2007 for the first time after installing, I got a Security Warning that macros had been disabled for the Zotero.dot template, which the installation placed in the specified Word Startup. When I enable the macros from that warning dialog, the message goes away and Zotero appears to work.

But the Security Warning returns every time Word is first launched. I want to get rid of that.

I do not want to add the path to the Trust Locations. And I do not see how to add Zotero as a Trusted Publisher. Is that possible? It would be an easy solution.

When I copied Zotero.dot to one of the Trust Locations already set up in Trust Center, Word did not see it. I've verified that it is there.

Is there some way I can get this working so that 1) Zotero.dot can be put someplace other than Word's Startup folder, and 2) I do not get a Security Warning every time I open Word.

Thank you.

Zotero.dot has to be in a startup folder to be loaded automatically, so you can't place it in any other location even if it's trusted. If the startup folder is not a trusted location, then that's a bit odd, since that is the default setting. What do you have listed under trusted locations?

I believe you can also place Zotero.dot into the system-global startup folder in Program Files\Office11(?)\STARTUP, which, I think, is trusted by default.
