Cannot change email address

I go into Settings>Account, enter a new email in the box, and click "Update Emails" but get a notice in red at the top of the page "Could not add email address". The address I have on file I don't have access to anymore.

  • most common reason for not being able to add a new e-mail is that it's already associated with an account. Are you positive that's note the case?
  • Perhaps, but I tried many options the other day. I actually just used a gmail alias and got it to work.
