Error during initial sync
Hi,
I just installed Zotero Standalone 4.0.21.2 on a new computer running Windows 7. It synced my documents ok but when it tries to do the big sync and bring in my attached pdfs I get an error that says
"A file sync error occurred. Please try syncing again.
If you receive this message repeatedly, restart Zotero and/or your computer and try again. If you continue to receive the message, submit an error report and post the Report ID to a new thread in the Zotero Forums."
Restarted Zotero, restarted Windows, same error.
So, that's what I'm doing.

Thanks!

dstillman Zotero TeamJust ignore it and keep syncing, or leave auto-sync on and work in Zotero normally and let it finish on its own. Unless you get an error immediately at the beginning of every sync, it's not a problem. Future versions of Zotero will be better at retrying more errors automatically.

matthewrecordIt happens almost immediately I only maybe get a .5% sync at a time - it would take a really long time. Do I have any other options?
-
dstillman Zotero TeamCan you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync attempt that fails?
-
matthewrecordNot tonight. The computer is at my office

dstillman Zotero TeamActually it looks like the repeated errors in this case were the result of a server problem, now resolved. Let us know if the problem resurfaces. (Occasional errors still aren't a problem, but they shouldn't be this frequent.)
