Preferences unavailable: report id 1365561479

When I run standalone Zotero and try to open preferences, I see the following:

I don't know that the error report has any relevant information, but I submitted what it generated. This is version 4.0.21.5 packaged in Debian Linux (Testing).
  • I tested the version available on the Zotero website for 64-bit Linux (4.0.21.2), and the preferences screen does appear correctly in that version. So I don't know if it is a difference in the versions or a problem with the way it is being packaged in Debian.
  • Yeah, I'm afraid if this works in the official version you'll have to take this up with the package maintainer.

This is probably the relevant error, which points to a more general issue in the build:
    [JavaScript Error: "NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED: Component returned failure code: 0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) [nsIPrefBranch.getBoolPref]" {file: "chrome://global/content/bindings/preferences.xml" line: 576}]"
(You should be able to see whether that error appears after you try to open the prefs.)
  • You can try wiping out the prefs.js file in your Standalone profile directory and restarting, but that's about all I can suggest.
  • Thanks. I already tried wiping various combinations of things. I'll take it up with the Debian maintainer.
