Nota Bene

Dan, would you please consider an import/export option for Nota Bene's Ibidem module? For members of the Nota Bene community who don't use programs such as Bookwhere, Zotera's ability to extract information from online catalogs would be a godsend if importing from Zotera were smoother. RIS requires quite a bit of text massaging to make records shipshape in Ibidem.

I'm not Dan & not a Zotero dev, but am a passionate user & like standards.

Zotero (note the ending 'o') imports and exports a number of standard bibliographic formats. If Ibidem doesn't support any of them, why not make a request to them?

Or at least let us know what special voodoo Ibidem requires.
  • noksagt: thanks, I'll contact the Nota Bene team; thanks too for the spelling correction (I don't know how I came to make that error -- probably worrying too much about apostrophes!)
  • Did anything ever come of this?
  • I haven't heard anybody mention Ibidem on the Zotero forums in years. What were you hoping for? Are you looking to import to or export from Nota Bene's Ibidem?
  • I was hoping to import. But this conversation got me to go back and look at my options. The last time I checked there was no compatible standard that was both one of Zotero's export choices and Nota Bene/Ibidem's import file types. But since the last time I looked either Ibidem or Zotero has added more (or both have done so) because I just moved things over using RIS, which they now both accept. Cool. Thanks.
