Firefox Add on said: "There was an error starting Zotero"

I have solved my problem but maybe it is helpful for others searching for solutions?

I clicked my Zotero add-on for firefox, it would not open and came up with the error message: " There was an error starting Zotero."

Dan Stillman has kindly informed me that
" "There was an error starting Zotero" is a generic message that can mean different things. It's the underlying error that matters"

In my case I UPDATED FIREFOX
(firefox tab > help > about firefox > check for updates)

AND IT ALL WORKS AGAIN

    Most likely you were using a version before Firefox 24, which until a few days ago was the latest ESR version. Zotero should always work with the latest release (currently 31) or the latest ESR version (now 31 as well, followed by 38 in Spring 2015).

    Check to make sure you have automatic Firefox updates enabled in the Advanced -> Update pane of the Firefox preferences.

    i reinstalled zotero and now its working
