Firefox 31.0 Zotero extension startup error

If i hold the cursor over Z it says 'there was an error starting zotero'. have tried re-intsalling, and deleting the extensions.ini etc files with no joy.

    NS_ERROR_STORAGE_IOERR
    This usually occurs when the Zotero data directory is on a network share or in a server-mirrored location on the hard drive (e.g., in a work environment). If that's the case for you, try copying your Zotero data directory to the local hard drive and pointing Zotero there instead.

    This could also be caused by security software on your system interfering with Zotero's ability to access the disk.
