hide greyed out notes in searches/tagged item display

Is there a way to hide greyed-out notes (NOT the top-level items) in a search? If not, I'd like to request that feature :-)

I would like to see this in the tagged-item display, too.

I saw a few other people asking for something similar, but they wanted to hide the top-level items that were not hits as well. I like seeing the top level items, but I don't need to see all 40 notes for a given parent when only one of them matches my tag/search term.
