I cant see the preferences tool bar on the firefox version to check on syncing

the new group members I added cannot see the items in the library I created. one suggested that I have not got the proper setting for syncing. In the stand alone version I can see the arrow for syncing, but it does not show up when I am logged into the firefox verison. In fact, I could not find how to get to "preferences" at all. I only see "settings" "inbox" "download" and "log out". Can you help me get access to my files to group members?

    you're looking on the webpage, not in the Firefox version. The Firefox version requires installing the add-on and the clicking on the "Z" icon at the top right of your browser. That will open the Zotero pane where you'll find the gears menu that includes the preferences.

    How do you install the "add on"? I have done "download now" and restarted firefox twice, but I dont see the Z icon.

    is Zotero listed in the list of add-ons? (click on the button on the top right in Firefox, then on add-ons, check under "extensions")
