Translator request University of Melbourne catalogue
I would like to make a request for a translator for the University of Melbourne Library catalogue. It is not currently supported by Zotero, which makes it difficult to reccommend that students use it.
If you're not getting the URL bar icon on the site, see Troubleshooting Translator Issues.
For instance if we try an *exact* title search like
"On history and other essays"
We get the result, and the URL icon (in the shape of a folder) is there, but we get the "Cannot save item" message
http://cat.lib.unimelb.edu.au/search/t?SEARCH=on+history+and+other+essays&sortdropdown=-&searchscope=30
However, is we do a *broader* title search, like
"On history"
and then click on the "On history and other essays" title, we get the book icon and saves it without problems.
http://cat.lib.unimelb.edu.au/search/ton+history/ton+history/1,3,8,B/frameset&FF=ton+history+and+other+essays&1,1,/indexsort=-
Comparable problems appear when searching by author.
The most consistent one is when there is only one record for that particular author.
Exmples are search by author=
Opere
http://cat.lib.unimelb.edu.au/search/a?SEARCH=opere&sortdropdown=-&searchscope=30
Donowitz, leigh
http://cat.lib.unimelb.edu.au/search/a?SEARCH=donowitz,+leigh&sortdropdown=-&searchscope=30
Chopin, Isabelle
http://cat.lib.unimelb.edu.au/search/a?SEARCH=chopin,+isabelle&sortdropdown=-&searchscope=30
I hope this clarifies things a bit. Thank you for your help.
The problem is likely that when you search and only come up with 1 result, the webpage brings up the book info rather than a search results page, but it creates a dynamic URL that fits the format of a search results page.
The translator in question likely uses the URL to determine whether or not it is looking at a search results page or a single entry page and gets confused.
