There's probably not much we can do about a Firefox crash, but can you provide debug output for the crash? (Just the output from when you click the link, if any, will do.) Also, what OS are you using?
Possible fix: Allow "zotero://attachment" URLs in NoScript. This did the trick for me.
The crash seems to be related to some interplay between NoScript and the way zotero:// URLs are handled. Actually, Firefox itself does not crash, but is torn down by Vista's Data Execution Prevention (DEP) system.
Maybe somebody can confirm this and add it to a FAQ or the issue tracker.
