Style Error: Journal of Consumer Research

Hello,

There is a small error in the new Journal of Consumer Research style.

When there are two authors, there should not be a comma after the first author's given name/initial. However, Zotero is inserting one.

I.e. here is the current output:

Campbell, John L., and Oscar K. Pedersen (2007), "The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success," Comparative Political Studies, 40(3), 307–32.

It should be:

Campbell, John L. and Oscar K. Pedersen (2007), "The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success," Comparative Political Studies, 40(3), 307–32.

When there are 3 or more authors, the inserted comma is appropriate:

Campbell, John L., Molly A. Brown, and Oscar K. Pedersen (2007), "The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success," Comparative Political Studies, 40(3), 307–32.

The references should also be double-spaced, but I do not know whether or not this is something that is set as part of the Zotero style specification.

Here is a link to the JCR style sheet:

I tried to edit the style myself but couldn't figure out how to do so. Thank you for correcting this error (and creating this style!).

Jason

(Note: edited to include your standard citation as the example - missed that in the directions!)

The style is now fixed. The updated version will appear on the repository within 30mins (check the timestamp). Update your copy of the style by clicking "Update Now" in the General tab of the Zotero preferences.

Styles also update automatically within 24hs for Zotero 4.0+
In an existing document, you may have to switch to a different style and back for the changes to take effect once the style is updated.
Any further problems please let us know & thanks for reporting

(thanks also for using the standard example, but we only need that for requesting new styles, not for error reports).
  • Thanks very much for fixing this, particularly so quickly!
