Citations appear only as a number in Word for Mac
Exporting Citations from Zotero has not worked for me. Every time I try it just places a number in between brackets rather than a citation someone could read. If I toggle the field codes I can see the elements of the Citation but not at all in any format one could use. I am doing medical journal cites and have specified the Vancouver format for the cites, which should work. Working in Word for Mac 2011

adamsmithYou're just misunderstanding what a "citation" is in this case. In Vancouver and similar styles, the citations to be inserted in text, are indeed just numbers in parentheses (or square brackets or superscript). To have Zotero print the corresponding list of references, move your cursor to the place where you'd like it, then click "Insert Bibliography" in the Word add-on.

jwilentzThanks so much. Got it. Documentation not totally straightforward. Clearly a "newb" error!
