Zotero standalone LO integration does not install (latest versions)

Zotero LO integration 3.5.9.SA.4.0.20 is not installed but appears in Zotero Add-ons Manager. Click Pref-s there, opens Pref-s > Cite > Word Processors showing "...ad-in is not currently installed". Click "Install LO... ad-in" -- nothing happens. Found

https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_toolbar_doesn_t_appear

but there's no "Reinstall Extension" to click in Pref-s > Cite > Word Processors (nor elsewhere). I've rebooted etc. Any ideas?

  • You're note seeing anything in LibreOffice?
  • Yep, nothing
  • try downloading the LO add-on from
    https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation#libreoffice
and install via tools-->add-ons-->extensions--> the little tool icon--> install from File.
Keep the .xpi file you downloaded.
If the install doesn't work, extract the .xpi with archive Manager (or the like). In the folder "Install" is a .oxt file - install that via LibreOffice's extension dialog, see if that works.

(@Simon - FWIW, I also don't the the add-on installed under Cite (though it is under add-ons), but in my case it actually works in LO)
  • Will try (but note that this is FF extension, I've standalone)
  • I understood that - hence the complicated install instructions.
  • Thanks, this worked (the second, more complicated way). Still, you seem to have a problem

I'm now in the same boat w/ adamsmith (see above): LO integration working but Pref-s > Cite > Word Processors shows "...add-in is not currently installed"

A few words on what got me into the plight in the first place. Had older ver-s of Zotero and LO installed, updated LO to the latest (doing it manually in Mint), Zotero worked, gave the update reminder/nag, updated, Zotero worked fine but w/ "...add-in is not currently installed" in Pref-s > Cite > Word Processors. Had updated Zotero as root because "sudo chmod -R o+w /opt/zotero /opt" hadn't worked before (but in the future I'll "update" manually as described in http://anterotesis.com/wordpress/2011/11/installing-zotero-standalone-on-ubuntu-11-10). Given "...add-in is not currently installed", supposed I'd have to reinstall it, so removed the integration (by the only way I know, LO : Tools > Extension Manager). Then couldn't find a way to reinstall it (as described in the beginning of the thread)
