renaming PDF attachments does not rename source file
I would sometimes like to be able to rename an attached PDF.
However, when I rename the file with Zotero, it appears correctly. Unfortunately, it seems that Zotero does not actually rename the source file.
I'd like it if this happened, because sometimes I actually access the files outside of Zotero, but it's confusing when the file appears with one name in Zotero, and another in the Windows file system.
Zotero stand-alone 4.0.20 on Windows Home Premium
Zotero add-on for Firefox
Oh and many thanks in advance! This forum is so helpful (as is the program!).

adamsmithare you sure it's not actually renaming the file? The file label in the center pane and in bold at the top of the right hand pane is _not_ the filename. The filename is displayed after "Filename: " in the right hand panel. Zotero's automatic file renaming definitely does change the actual filename.

janew1Thank you! I see what you mean. It's too bad, IMO, you can't rename the file manually -- or at least manually and easily. Sometimes that would be convenient.

aurimasYou can rename both the label and the filename. Click on the label in the right pane and tick the box in the popup.

janew1Ah ha! Thank you!
