Issue with web pages ending in number + APA 6th edition

I am using APA 6th edition in my document.

I have noticed that when I add to my library items of type "web page" (i.e. I enter a website and select "Create web page item from current page"), if the name of the website ends in a number (for example, http://nvd3.org/ or http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/), the number appears in the citation as the page number, as in: "(Novus Partners, 2014, p. 3)" or "(Berjon et al., 2014, p. 5)", respectively.

I am not sure if this is an issue with the web page translator, or with the APA 6th edition style.
  • Looks like it's a side effect of a shortcut for adding page numbers, coded into the QuickFormat widget (the popup for entering citations in a document). After typing the website title ("html5", say), if you use the down-arrow key to highlight the entry in the dropdown list (instead of just hitting Enter immediately), you should get the item with no page number.
  • Hi, thanks for your response.

Using LibreOffice, pressing down when inserting the citation makes no difference (there is no alternative citation). However, thanks to your message I've discovered the "Classic View", with which I can simply remove the page number.
  • you can also keep using the quick format one and either click on the citation or press ctrl+down (cmd+down on Mac) to get to a pop-up where you can delete the page number.
