should string cites be used exclusively in a single citation?
Hi all,
I have a question regarding string citations.
Is a citation such as: Cite #1; but see Cite #2. Cite #3. Permissible?
Or should the citation be: Cite #1; Cite #3; but see Cite #2.
I'm confused because the BlueBook says to group like signals together. But to me, that means all those within the same citation string such be grouped together. But where a string has already come to a full stop (i.e., terminated with a period), the cycle should begin again.
Thanks,
M

adamsmithedited May 19, 2014Is that a Zotero or a Bluebook question? Zotero in general can do both, though getting the punctuation just right in the first example might be a bit tricky.

fmc5I guess it's more of a bluebook question.

fbennettYou'll need to find the answer or an example in the Bluebook somewhere, or talk to its editors.
