Mozilla 29.0.1

Hello, I've upgraded to Mozilla 29.0.1 and zotero seems to work nicely, but I cannot install the plugin for wordprocessor...I dowload it from the official page and after it says it cannot be installed because the file is corrupted. I've removed the old zotero.dot from the word folder "other components", removed from mozilla and then restarted and tried again, with no luck...any suggestion? thanks!
  • what's the exact message you're getting and at what point? My best guess would be that either something is wrong with your add-on registry in Firefox or that you're downloading a cached incomplete version of the word add-on.
For the former there are generic steps on the mozilla documentation - easy to google with the error message, for the second, try restarting and emptying your cache.

adam, the exact error message is "add-on cannot be installed because the file is corrupt" and I get it at the end of downloading the plugin. What I've done:
-emptying firefox cache --> no effect
-cancelling the "zotero.dot" document --> no effect
-cancelling the whole mozilla registry for plugin --> no effect
-cancelling the entire cronology / cookie from firefox --> no effect
-setting "Track me" on firefox preference --> no effect
-removing avast antivirus from firefox ---> no effect
-AdBlock set to deactive --> no effect
....any suggestion? what if I unistall wholly Zotero and reinstall it? Will I lose all my data?
    thanks...

-cancelling the whole mozilla registry for plugin --> no effect
    by that you mean deleting
    extensions.sqlite
    extensions.sqlite-journal (if found)
    extensions.ini
from the Firefox profile? If not, you should try that, see
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unable-install-add-ons-or-extensions#w_corrupt-extension-files

Re-installing Zotero won't lose your data, but it also won't make any difference, so I wouldn't bother. Another thing to try would be to disable all other add-ons or even run Firefox in safe mode.
I assume you've also tried to re-download the Zotero Word add-on, right? You're not just trying this with the same copy?
