Copying Pdfs between groups

I am the admin for our organisation's group library. Each employee also holds their own group library which I am an admin on so I can copy things across from their libraries to the organisation one. However when I copy items across I cannot seem to also copy the pdfs, leading to a lot of work to login and retrieve them via athens etc. Is this a standard issue or is it something wrong? Thanks

Generally this should work. There are three potential reasons I can think of why this wouldn't work
1. In your Zotero preferences (general tab) the option to include files when moving items between libraries in unchecked
2. The group doesn't have file sharing enabled (or is an open public group for which you can't share files)
3. This is probably most likely in your case: When an item already exists in a library - including in an earlier version and/or in the trash - it does not actually copy the item at all (you'd just be seeing the old item). This will likely get improved in the future.

Highly likely that one of these are the problem.

Thank you. I have checked all of these problems but it still comes up with the following error message:

The attached file could not be found.

It may have been moved or deleted outside of Zotero.

Does this help in any way for solving the issue?

when exactly are you getting that message?

When I copy a record from one group to the other this message comes up.

have you tried opening the file? In the original group?
This sounds like it may just not be there (e.g. because it didn't sync successfully).
