Reference as part of text, not citation

Sometimes you have to mention a reference as part of your text, not as citation: e.g., Robert (2008) says... Is this possible with Zotero? I can just copy the reference from Zotero (MLZ) as text and hardcode it in the text, but that will make the reference invisible in the bibliography unless I cite it again somewhere in the same manuscript.
  • which citation style? For author-date styles you'd do that with "suppress author" but for footnote styles that's not possible (have never seen that, either).
  • Author-date style..
    Thanks!
