Can you exclude the first footnote from count?

Some publications require that the author information is included as a footnote that is designated with an asterisk rather than a number. That can be done in Microsoft Word easily, with the immediately following footnote starting from #1. But Zotero (MLZ) still counts the asterisked-footnote as #1 and has the supra numbers all off (by 1, of course).

Is there any solution to this?
  • Zotero doesn't seem to understand sectioned footnotes in Word and I'm not sure it can. For this particular issue, though, rather than a footnote, you can just put that information into the page-footer on the title page manually.
  • That's brilliant!
    Thanks!
