Losing Italics when I change fonts

Using Zotero standalone with Word for Mac. When I change the font of the footnotes in my document, it loses all the italics for titles of books and journals. I've closed both programs, re-opened and refreshed zotero.

    That's odd. Try in a copy of the document to remove the Zotero field codes via the plugin. If you then change the font, do you still lose formatting? If you do, this is a Word issue.
