Source info for "Thesis"

When manually inputting information for a "Thesis," the field "Publisher" should be replaced with school or institution, no?
Also, is there a way for the "Type" of thesis to appear as Ph.D. as a default? I don't know about others out there, but I've only cited M.A. or other theses once or twice in all my years of research.

Thanks,
David

I can speak to the first part of your question: because APA, MLA, and Chicago style all require the institution name (e.g., U of Illinois, George Mason University) in lieu of publisher for theses and dissertations, your best bet, as you suggest, is to insert the name of the university into the "Publisher" field.
