Index Medicus

Hi

I'd appreciate your help - I am submitting a paper and the journal is adhering to a style called "Index Medicus".
How can I use this style with Zotero?

Thanks !
  • there is no such style. (see here on Index Medicus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Index_Medicus)
Either the journal is just referring to the way to abbreviate journal titles - Zotero does follow Index Medicus for those - or they might mean Vancouver style (which comes pre-installed with Zotero). But you'd have to tell us which journal and provide a link to the instructions for authors to say more.
  • Thanks for your reply. The journals is "OMAJ - Israeli Medical Association Journal" - see here for instruction for authours - http://www.ima.org.il/ima/formstorage/type7/instructionsimaj.pdf

Any further advice will be appreciated.

That's AMA style (the first listed here:
    https://zotero.org/styles?q=American%20Medical%20Association )

edit: uhg - except that it wants citations in square brackets. Not sure we have that.
  • Thanks - are you sure about that?
    check this as well http://www.ima.org.il/ima/formstorage/type7/checklistimaj.pdf
They mention square brackets and AMA is different - isn't it?
  • yeah, unfortunately.
Have a look at "Cell Research" - it bolds volume titles, but otherwise should be a nice fit.
  • in this web page (http://www.ima.org.il/imaj/StaticPage.aspx?Page=6817) - they write "Instruction for Authors correspond to the Vancouver Method reference citation system for articles submitted to medical journals, as formulated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors"

Very strange.... so maybe should I do use Vancouver?

Sorry for so many messages... this is so not straight-forward,,,
  • see above - it resembles Vancouver, but it's not. Use "Cell Research".
  • the IMAJ style is now up.
It will appear on the style repository within 30mins.. (See here if you need instructions for installing styles in standalone.)

Any problems please let us know.
