Move large library Mac to Windows

Hi,
I have all my papers (around 1600 pdf:s, 2 GB) in Zotero on my Mac and now I need to move them to my new Windows machine. Any ideas how to do this the easiest way? I've thought of syncing but I can't figure out how to get all the attachments moved. It's so much data that I'd have to do it in batches, and I can't possibly go though all papers and set whether to sync the attachment or not. Is there any way to move on a USB stick or similar?
Thanks!
  • Yes. If you haven't set a custom storage directory, just find the zotero directory on the old machine, copy it to a USB stick (with Firefox and Standalone closed), and copy it into place on the new machine. Here's a set of instructions on finding the directory:

It's probably a good policy to turn off automatic sync on both machines while doing the transfer steps, turning it back on when you are satisfied that all is well.
  • Thanks! I didn't dare to try that since I was convinced that the fact that I'm moving libraries between Mac and PC would screw things up. But you mean it won't?
  • It should work fine --the beauty of standards.
