et al displayed in wrong (not the one I want) language when using open office plugin

I am using the open office plugin and when I insert a reference the et. al. is translated into swedish, (correctly), but I am writing an article to an English journal and want it to be in English. The writer document is set to use english, so I guess Zotero picks its settings from Firefox, or something else. An option to set the language in Zotero would be great.
