Adding PDFs to zotero group folder

Hi, I have a shared Zotero group folder and can add simple websites to the folder but not when the website opens as an actual PDF. If I do the same in MY Library it works. Did exactly that and then tried to drag the file into the group folder and that didn't work either. Why can I not save pdf's in shared group folder?

Is the shared group a public group with open membership? If so, file atachments are not allowed for that type of group https://www.zotero.org/support/groups#group_types

Otherwise, make sure file attachments are enabled for the group (an administrator of the group can change this option in group library settings)

Thanks Aurimas, I have changed the type of group to private and also to public closed but still unable to move file.I changed the member settings that any member can change file storage to no avail.
I also noticed that files created in a shared folder are duplicated in MY Library. But when I modify the citation in the shared folder this modification doesn't get modified in the citation in My library. This essentially means I create two citations with varied content. If using in-text citation both citations appear, the one from My library and the one from the group folder, but it is not clearly distinguishable which one is which in its short form appearing in the citation field that pops up when entering a search term. Any suggestions?

when using the quick format add-on (the one with the red bar around it) - citations are separated by library (with the library/group) title as a heading between them).

You have to sync first to transfer the setting. And for dragging, if the same item already exists in the group without the file (even in the trash), the file won't be added to the existing item. For adding directly from a website it should work once you sync.
