Import pdf file directly from Google Scholar reference?

Is there a direct way to import pdf file from Google Scholar?

I tried to drag&drop a pdf like link to my library, it did not work at all. My case is that I have a few hundrds of reference items in my library, collected over time, however no pdf files are attached. Now I found pdf files over Google Scholar. Sure I can download the PDFs first, then use: add attachment > attach stored copy of file, wonder if there are simpler ways to import the PDF files ?

thanks
  • there's not a much better way, no - if you're working with Firefox, you can open the pdf in Firefox and then select "Attach Snapshot of Current Page" from the paper clip menu. You could also look at ZotFile's http://zotfile.com/ "Attach New Item" function.
  • Dragging the PDF link onto an item should work fine, and does for me. On some search results Google may add an intermediate page that throws that off, but if it's a direct link (which at least in Firefox you can tell by clicking and holding on the link and looking at the URL at the bottom) it should be fine. If it's not a direct link you can view the PDF and then drag the favicon at the left of the address bar.
  • As suggested by Stillman:
-On some search results Google may add an intermediate page that throws that off

That's why my first try was failed. So from the Google Scholar page, first I showed all the versions of the pdf, then choose one which is a direct link of the pdf file, then drag/drop, it works well.

    Thanks
