How to use edited style and add page numbers
Hi,
I've been looking for a citation style that allows for a footnote including Author last name - year - and page number (p./pp.) (as commonly used in Sweden):
Andersson, (2007), p. 56
Since I couldn't find one I ended up editing the Chicago full note style and I was successful except when it came to adding the page. I've never worked with/edited CSL before so I really have no idea what I'm doing and have been trying to get by with help from google and this forum.
Now to my question: When I've edited in the Zotero -> settings -> advanced -> csl editor and want to save my edited style, the only option is to save it on my computer. How do I actually implement my own style when I use Zotero so that I can choose my own style in the Word plugin?
And second, is there an easy way to add page numbers or what happens when I edit the references if I end up only using author-year and then write page number myself in each note?
Have tried to use the CSL editor online but I can't seem to understand the visual editor and I can't figure out how to search for versions with notes in the "search by example".
Grateful for any help as I'm pretty lost...
Thank you!
/Hanna

For the page number - I assume that's the specific page you're citing - you enter this in the word processor plugin:
https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#quick_format_citation_dialog
in CSL the variable is called "locator" - the details of how to add this in a style depend, of course, on the style itself.
However, when I enter the specific page (like shown in the link), it just puts in the number in the footnote and not "p" or "pp." before the number. If I choose for example part instead of page it adds "pt." before the number. The "p" for page is visible in the Zotero window when the reference is searched/added but when I press enter to add it to the document the p never shows up in the footnote. Is there anyway to get the p/pp. in there? Or does it depend on the style I'm using? Thanks!
