Problem with Quotation Marks
Hello,
I have two (probably interrelated) questions concerning quotation marks. I'm using Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition (full note).
1) I would like to modify the style in a way that it uses the British system of quotation marks, i.e. single ' instead of " and, for quotations inside quotations, " instead of '. How can I edit the style accordingly?
2) I use many quotations with transliterations from Arabic, which include vowel markings. Zotero unfortunately transforms ' into ", for example:
Mudhakirāt Aš-Šheikh ‘Abdullāh Bin Ḥusseīn Al-Aḥmar: Qaḍāīyā Wa-Muwāqif (Memoirs of Sheikh ‘Abdullāh Bin Ḥusseīn Al-Aḥmar: Issues and Propositions), 2nd ed. (Ṣan“ā:” Dār Al-Kutub Al-Yamanīya, 2008).
whereas the original entry in the Zotero database for the place name reads: Ṣan‘ā’ (single quotes)
How can I fix this issue?
Your help is very much appreciated!

the latter will apply to all styles without a default locale, though it mostly affects CMoS
2) This has come up before https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/33667/quote-marks/ and I'm not 100% sure how well the solution works, but try to put a backslash before the vowel marker
