Factiva translator

Hello,
I can't use zotero with Factiva.
We had a recent discussion on twitter with @adam42smith
he announced :
".@vocivelo @DowJonesSupport Factiva is now fully supported in @zotero thanks to work by Philipp @UBMannheim"
However, it still doesn't work for me.
- I've checked my local file translator and couldn't find a factiva.js
- we have a proxy at the University for this database. The url is http://ressources.univ-poitiers.fr:2089/ha/default.aspx
Does it work for you ?
Thanks for your comment
  • It will not work over that proxy. If you can access it from campus or over vpn directly, it should work.
  • OK thanks, I think that we have only proxified adresses for Factiva. I'll check.

is there any way you can get to the resource w/o the proxy? If Zotero can't see the factiva URL, it can't recognize the page as factiva

    (edit: i.e. what Aurimas says.)

If that proxy is _only_ used for factiva, there might be a way to configure the proxy in Zotero for Firefox (currently not other browsers) and probably have it recognize factiva (in theory anyway). Under Preferences -> Proxies, click the + button and enter "global.factiva.com" under Hostname and "http://ressources.univ-poitiers.fr:2089/%p" under Scheme (leave Multisite unchecked).

Haven't tested this, but it may work.

Edit: had a mistake in the scheme
  • yes it works ! Thanks a lot for your help ! I'll share with my collegues.
