communication error openoffice/zotero using FF3.0.1/zotero1.0.7

error report ID: 1551387201

I don' know whether it is related to the problem, but since upgrading to zotero 1.0.7 as well as firefox 3.0.1, the communication between the openoffice plugin and zotero fails. Reinstalling the plugin didn't solve the problem.

The error occurs for new and existing documents.

Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
julante
  • Have you followed all the steps on the troubleshooting page, including checking the debug output?
  • I have just tried the debug output, and it did say "Integration HTTP server listening on 127.0.0.1:50001" in the beginning but the line disappeared after a few seconds.

In addition I checked the zotero error report again and it now says:
[JavaScript Error: "itemData row references nonexistent item 13983" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/data_access.js" line: 2908}]
I don't know if this was included in the error report I have sent earlier. I believe most of the other errors were for other add-ons.
  • If you restart Firefox (to clear the errors), does that error appear before you get the communication error, or only after?
  • I tried some combinations and apparently it appears when I open the zotero panel in firefox. It appears no matter if openoffice is opened or closed.

In OpenOffice, have you opened the Extension Manager from the menus, expanded Zotero.oxt under My Extensions, and made sure that ZoteroRPC.py is enabled (as listed in the OpenOffice troubleshooting section)?

Assuming Zotero.oxt and all components under it show as enabled, do you see any activity in the debug output when you click an icon in OpenOffice?
  • All components of the openoffice plugin are enabled, but there is no activity in the debug output when I click on an icon.
  • By the way, thank you for helping me :-).
  • I solved my problem. I backed up my zotero storage folder, deinstalled firefox completely with all personal settings, reinstalled, installed zotero, linked my library and now all is working again. Thank you for your help.
