Modifying spacing of footnote sections

When using Zotero plugin for word, the application is working great but I am having one problem. For the paper I am writing, we have some unusual spacing requirements. I have to modify the space at the bottom of where zotero inserts my notes, and the footer section. Normally when using footnotes without zotero, I can adjust this spacing using the ruler bar. But when zotero is used I do not have that option. Any idea of how I can reduce the space between the notes section and footer? Do I need to modify zotero.dot?

There should be no difference between using regular footnotes and Zotero footnotes (they are actually the same thing, Zotero tells Word to insert a footnote). I'm able to adjust the spacing using the ruler on Word 2010 (32bit, v14.0.7116.5000). Which version of Word are you using? Can you upload a screenshot of this to some image host website and link to it here? Make sure you have the ruler and paragraph marks showing.
