  • what do you mean by a pdf manager? What would you like to be able to do?
I know Mendeley, of course, but it's not quite clear to what feature you're referring.
  • An internal reader of PDFs in zotero interface where can highlite and take notes in only one screen
  • That's unlikely to happen anytime soon, if ever. Why would you want that? You can use any PDF reader you want with Zotero, both on your computer and your tablet, there are many solutions that annotate nicely. With Zotfile you can extract annotations into notes, so that works well, too.
  • zotfile work in linux and in standalone versions? or only in firefox extension and with mac app's? I'm closing my master thesis and planning my doctoral thesis, and really ismost confortable take notes in only one window... These make mor integral the zotero experience... like a suite.
  • As http://www.mendeley.com/features/read-and-annotate/

As a constant user of zotero I can tell you that this kind of experience would be much more comfortable all the power and freedom of zotero ...
  • I just think that a line of zotero can improve my management of references, which is excellent and unbeatable zotero to manage pdf's ... just a suggestion that is my constant use of the application.

Thank you very much for giving answer! I am very happy about it :)

    Regards
  • ZotFile works in Standalone and on Linux, yes. As I say, I'm well aware of Mendeley's built-in PDF reader and it's very unlikely to happen in Zotero in the foreseeable future unless pdf.js (by mozilla) introduces annotation support. It's a huge investment (IIRC, Mendeley licensed a proprietary PDF library, so Zotero couldn't go that way).
Personally I prefer having a choice of PDF reader/annotator with more powerful features (different annotation types, different colors for highlights, annotation of non-OCRd PDFs, default compatibility with other PDF readers without export etc.)
  • PS: The notes of Zotero are very best than the Mendeley system to take notes, because, like with the 3x5 cards, can take notes in a lot of cards and not in just one...

    Regards again...
