Two questions on collections

If I delete a collection, but not the items in it, will they be automatically part of the "parent" collection of that sub-collection?

Is there a way to have a collection present all the items in its sub-collections?

I'm not sure on the first question. You could create a small collection and sub-collection and check it out.

On the second, check out the page on Hidden Preferences:: http://www.zotero.org/support/preferences/hidden_preferences

Look down to where it talks about recursiveCollections:

By default, each of your collections displays only the items you have placed there. When you place a collection inside another collection, the contents of the second collection are not added to the first. If you enable recursive collections, items from subcollections will appear in all higher-level collections.

Set recursiveCollections to True.

Thanks, tried about the first - and the answer is "no". It doesn't go into the parent collection, but into My Library only.

And changed the pref for the second q, thanks!
