No tags, no export?

I'm having trouble exporting citations from a library. The error reporting function tells me that something goes wrong while selecting tags (error ID 177771314). Unfortunately, I cannot check whether the problem goes away if I add a tag, for adding tags somehow doesn't work.

This is in the Sync Preview version. Probably noteworthy also that I'm trying to export stuff from a database that originated under the Sync Alpha version.

Interestingly, if I open the tag selector and restart FF, Zotero fails to load the items in the library. Thus it seems that the issue is related to the absence of tags indeed.

How do I fix this?

    Databases created in the Sync Alpha aren't usable in the Sync Preview. You'll need to start from scratch or upgrade a 1.0 branch database directly to the Sync Preview.

    I was afraid so... I've asked Sean to send me the Sync Alpha xpi (I deinstalled it) so that I can try to export the stuff.
