Office 365 - Citation and bibliography problems

Hi guys I'm new here so please help :)

I'm experiencing problems with my office 365 and the citations and bibliography. i can use the add-on with out issues, it works a treat. however when i come back to the document after closing it, it doesn't recognise the citations!

I've just finished an essay and just about to press the magic bibliography button when nothing appears. checking it again i realised for some reason when you close the word document, the little grey marker on the citations is missing and will not generate the bibliography.

any help i would appreciate it thanks!!!
  • I don't think there has been much testing with Office 365.
Could you try saving the file in different formats - try both docx and doc and see if that makes a difference. (So you'd basically start a fresh file, insert one citation, save, close the file, load it again and see if it's still there).
If neither of those works, how about if you switch from "Fields" to "Bookmarks" under "Set Document Preferences" in the Zotero Word add-on?
  • Hi adamsmith,

Just tried what you said and that's sorted the issue. The problem was i had the document saved as an open office document which as you probably know, is not supported by the 'Fields' preference and have to use 'Bookmarks'.

I have been using Office 365 and I've not found any other problems with the Zotero office add on. It works a treat and once again, thanks for your help!!!
  • hi Hakim, How did you install the add-in? I can't seem to make it install to the Word 2013 in Office 365 from the Zotero standalone.

    Thanks.
  • @ploring: what worked for me to get things to come up in Word 365 was checking the "use Classic Add Citation dialog" in the Cite panel of Zotero preferences. Was in a rush and couldn't figure out the more elegant way for Word 365 to show the zotero add-in.
