zotero export

I was trying to export collection of zotero to use in another account and there is a problem called javascript application"An error occurred while trying to export the selected file."

How to solve that problem?
Many thanks,
  • which format? Can you provide an error report after triggering that error, please? http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs#provide_a_report_id
  • report ID: 2122126435
  • And that's Zotero RDF you're trying to export to?
Dan, what does the report say?
  • Yes it is RDF format because I want to import into another account in another computer.
There is nothing but the export finish with 1KB file size only which is not working also.
  • No relevant errors in there. ECEH_Econ: Are you sure you generated that after triggering the error? If so, provide a Debug ID for an export attempt that files.
  • I appear to be having a similar issue to ECEH_Econ. I have a library with multiple collections and subcollections that I would like to export. I have tried exporting in both RIS and RefWorks Tagged Format. I have tried exporting just the citations, the citations and notes, and citations, notes and files. Everytime I try to export I get the same error message, "An error occured while trying to export the selected file." At the top of the error message window it says "(Square bracket) JavaScript Application (square bracket)". There is no error ID or any other indication of what the error is. I am using the standalone Zotero application, not sure if this may be an issue? Also, I know there was a major update to Java that was released last week. Maybe this issue has something to do with Zotero currently being incompatible with the latest Java release? Please help me resolve this issue.
  • FYI: I am running Zotero Version 4.0.17 on Windows 7.
  • First, try disabling all other add-ons. Then, with all of them still disabled, provide a debug ID for a failed export as per Dan's link above, please.
JavaScript and Java have nothing to do with each other, Zotero is written in the former and doesn't use the latter (except for LibreOffice integration).
  • Thanks for the help adamsmith! Since I'm running the standalone version of Zotero there aren't any add-ons to disable (or am I just totally misunderstanding :). I enabled debug ID and after trying to export, and failing, got this ID number: D910567590.
  • great, thanks. Dan has to look at the debug before we can continue to troubleshoot this.

@Kunnskapssenter - could you check your database integrity from the advanced tab of the Zotero preferences?
