DOI from doi.org is not imported:
The publications of IOS like these:
http://ebooks.iospress.nl/publication/33847 with DOI 10.3233/978-1-61499-286-8-57

in crossref.org are empty:
http://search.crossref.org/?q=+10.3233%2F978-1-61499-286-8-57

but work in doi.org:
http://dx.doi.org/10.3233/978-1-61499-286-8-57

  • Publishers usually submit bibliographic data when they register a DOI. If they don't, there is not an easy way to get the data (as there is not a uniform source of data to connect to). In this particular case, there is a translator at the resolved URL...but that is not always the case.

    Some publishers have submitted citation data to CrossRef when informed of this.
  • I haven't looked at this particular case, but CrossRef also doesn't register all DOIs - it' possible a DOI (that works through the resolver) is registered with one of the other entities. We're working on adding support for those.
  • It's registered with mEDRA
