Child Notes Not Copying from My Library to Group Library

Hi,

I am using Zotero for mac and have the current version/updates.

In both the stand alone version and within the Firefox Web Browser, under preferences I have checked the boxes for copying child notes etc. under Groups. However when I drag files with child notes from my library to the group library the child notes are not being included.

Please help as sharing notes is critical to our group's collaboration.

You can create notes in the group library directly?
If so, provide a debug ID that covers dragging an item with a note from your library to a group:

If you previously dragged the same items without notes, I'm not sure it will currently add the child notes. You'll need to either drag the notes individually or delete the previously dragged items (and empty the trash).

Okay, I followed Dan's advice and deleted the group trash and that allowed the child notes to be copied with the drag and drop procedure.

As a precaution I ran the debug as per the instructions and the number is:

D1258876989

Hello all:

A student of mine (also using Zotero for mac and have the current version/updates) is having the same issue with dragging folders from my library to shared group...folders/PDFs all move, but the notes do not. Tried Dan's advice to no avail.

There's not really any other answer. The notes will absolutely copy as long as 1) the note option is enabled in the Groups section of the General pane of the preferences and 2) the same parent items don't already exist, without notes, in the target library, either in the library root or in the trash.

(That debug output doesn't seem to show any drag attempt, though.)

Many thanks Dan, I did a screencast for the student to clarify "trash", I know we will figure it out f2f.
