Import Citation New England Journal of Medicine Not Working

Hello,

I am trying to import a citation from the New England Journal of Medicine website. However, the authors are not imported properly. Example: http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM200205303462223

Can this problem be fixed?

Thanks
  • NEJM doesn't provide an author for this in the metadata (you can look at the bibtex or RIS yourself), presumably because it's authored by a study group. Nothing we can do about that, sorry.
  • Hello,

I have not been able to import from NEJM for a few months, despite upgrades/reinstalls of OS (now Ubuntu 17.10) Firefox (latest) and zotero standalone and plug-in. No other source seems to be effected.

The article is recognized (i.e. the zotero connector icon changes to article) but attempting to import fails silently with no error.

Attempting to open the RIS file with zotero through the browser (when in an NEJM tab) produces the error: "This item could not be saved because Zotero is not open or is unreachable. Please open Zotero and try again." Despite the fact that zotero is open and other tabs in the same window have no issue importing citations.

I can save the RIS to disk and open in standalone with no problem.

    Is NEJM deliberately blocking Zotero?

    Take care,

    Azad
  • Saving from the page given above works fine for me (other than there not being author metadata), as does downloading the RIS (which produces slightly worse results).

@azadmashari: If that page isn't working for you, see Troubleshooting Translator Errors. Given the error you're getting for the RIS, Connection Error may also be relevant.
  • Thank you very much @dstillman . I followed the Troubleshooting Translator Errors. It turns out that you need to accept third-party cookies for the NEJM import to work.

Note, that there are not authors for http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM200205303462223 which is only a correction (fix a spelling mistake) of the article http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa012689
