PDF will not import

This is our error report number 679971888.

Sony Vio laptop, OS Windows 7, FireFox 25.0.1, Zotero 4.0.16

Citation imports but not the PDF (the import pop-up has a red "x" with EBSCO full text next to it). The PDF import dosen't work with other providers either (ProQuest, SAGE, etc). Any help would be great!
  • please provide a sample URL as you see it - SAGE would be ideal.
  • Is this what you need?

yes, but could you provide a URL for the item you were trying to import when you generated the above Report ID? This one is from SAGE and you are referring to EBSCOhost above.

Edit: or maybe Dan could look it up.
  • I'm having difficulty with all PDFs--it's not vendor-specific
  • Right, but we would want to first make sure that there's also not a bug in a site-specific translator before moving on to troubleshooting your setup. The error that Dan pulled out of your report seems to be a translator error.
  • I wanted the SAGE url because that translator has never given us any trouble, so we can pretty safely exclude other issues.

I'd ask you to run through these:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
as they apply (you've obviously already done step 12) - I'm particularly interested in 7.
  • My colleagues are not having difficulty. However, I work remotely via VPN.

Here is an example from EBSCO:

Deepening Empathy in Men Using a Musical Chronology and the Emerging Life S...: EBSCOhost

    Permalink: http://www.myunion.edu/Library-Login.aspx?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&AN=90535081&site=ehost-live

Please let me know if you need more or different information.

    Thanks!
  • Interestingly, the PDF failed to download for me the first time I tried saving that EBSCOhost page (unfortunately I did not have debugging on), but I am not able to reproduce it since. We've seen some network connectivity problems with EBSCOhost before, so I'll chalk it up to that.

Could you produce a Debug ID when saving the article from http://ccs.sagepub.com.proxy.myunion.edu/content/12/4/307.full.pdf+html ?
  • Here is the debug ID: D1684257326.

did you ever run through the troubleshooting steps?

  • It was number 7! I changed my cookie setting and everything is working now!
