Removing a file containing malware from online backup of database.
When a file stored in Zotero contains malware, I don't know how to get it out of my online storage. My virus checker quarantines the file on my hard drive, but as best I can tell it gets resurrected from the online backup.
I'm on a Mac, so this is actually theoretical malware. It's not causing problems but I still don't want to store it.
The error report Zotero submitted regarding this was #1414200917 .
Thanks

dstillmanedited December 2, 2013Look for the random eight-character uppercase string in the path of the quarantined file (e.g., "25X4HUWU"), paste that into the Zotero search bar in All Fields & Tags mode, delete the attachment item that shows up, and empty the trash. Note that the item could be in any library that you sync files with.
