Upgrade StorageAnnotation/ notes/ extra
I need to choose the best way to include my own annotations.
I'm looking at Abstract, Notes and Extra.
Are all these visible to online visitors on public access? (I want most to be publicly visible.)
How do I make notes just for me?
How can I make it show on the summary list that there IS/ IS NOT an entry for notes/ annotation? It's frustrating to keep clicking records open only to find there is no additional information.

For your personal library, you can choose not to display notes.
For a group, when copying over from your personal library, you can set (in the general tab of the Zotero preferences) to not copy notes). But once a note is visible in a group to you, it's visible to everyone.
Both of these notes settings are either/or settings so you can't adjust them on a by-item basis.
You cannot show presence/absence of a note online, though in the client you can add a "Note" and/or an "Extra" column to the middle panel by clicking on the small table icon at the top right of the middle panel.
