sorry, it's not quite clear what you are looking for. Could you maybe describe in some detail what you're trying to do?
I don't understand e.g. what you mean by "parsing the digital repository pages" and what that has to do with an API.

Hi, thank you for your response.
actually i need to collect data from all of research repositories in my open source application. so i just want to know, when we click on zotero extension in browser how it is getting/parsing the data from currently opened page. in which api/library, it is parsing the page.

it's not using an API for that, but a system of translators:
