Chrome: Where does the Web page end up?

Okay, this may sound ridiculous, especially seeing as I have been using Zotero for more years than I can remember - but the Standalone version is new to me (I'm trying to use Chrome at the moment). Zotero Standalone is happily perched in my system tray, I right-click on a web page and I get the option to save Zotero snapshot from current page. This I select. Nothing visible happens. I go looking for the page in Zotero but I can't find it anywhere. So, where is it?
I also installed Zotero Connector 4.0.8.2. That doesn't appear to do anything either - nor do I get an icon in the address bar or anywhere else.
Having typed all of the above, it has now occurred to me that I may be having problems because I am using a portable version of Chrome. However, I also use portable Firefox and Zotero works perfectly there.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
  • I'm guessing the webpage is going to your online account at zotero.org -
more generally Zotero has never been tested with portable Chrome and I'd kind of assume it doesn't work correctly - portable Firefox is a different issue since Zotero can be integrated into that entirely.
  • Thanks for the response Adam. If you are correct, then surely the standalone Zotero would be updated when I synced? But it isn't :-(
  • I guess it's possible nothing at all gets saved - Standalone and the server are the only two places Zotero can save to.
As I say - Chrome portable is entirely untested/unsupported.
  • I'm sure you're correct Adam, portable Chrome just isn't going to work. Ta ever so much .... Bye.
