Cannot search group; "not found"

I have just created (or tried to) a group for a Uni history course, idea being to share our research as we go. The group type has been set to "Public, Closed Membership" so my classmates need to be able to search it to join.

Only problem: I can't find it in the group search. I'm assuming it will be the same for the class.

This is the group name: British Society and the Experience of the World Wars (HIST 4500)
and
this is the URL: https://www.zotero.org/groups/british_society_and_the_experience_of_the_world_wars_hist_4500

When I try the search, though, I'm just given "not found."

Is this typical of new groups, have I done something horribly wrong, am I just a moron? All of the above!? Please! These are things I need to know.

Thanks for having read,
RyanK
  • I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Obviously for your classmates you can just send them the link, I believe the group should show up in searches once you have something in your library - IIRC that's one of the ways in which Zotero tries to make spam groups (which are, unfortunately, a major issue) less attractive.

(I tried to join your group for testing, please deny or ignore)
  • Ok cool, good to know (and man, you kill at rapidity of reply!). Will accept your invite in case anything comes up re: problems/testing.

I'll upload some stuff tomorrow (later today?) in the AM when I've got the time, see if it works after.

Thanks so much for the help!
