Corrupted Database 'zotero.sqlite'

Zotero was working fine when suddenly I could not open it anymore; it gave me an error message saying that my database file 'zotero.sqlite' is corrupted; the back up is fairly recent, it says it saved the damaged file to my Zotero directory and I have to relaunch Firefox. I did just that a few time, restarted the whole computer, then uninstalled and reinstalled Zotero Standalone, but to no avail.

Please help! What does one do in case of corrupted database file?

    Otherwise - anything unusual about your Zotero set-up? Do you have the zotero data folder in a custom location? If so, where?

    Dear adamsmith, Thank you very much for your help. It took me awhile, but I used the link you provided to get an new zotero.sqlite file off the zotero support page and replaced the corrupt one. now i'm back up. not sure what cased the file corruption in the first place. i followed standard installation procedure.
